1. When and how do I sign up?
We usually start the sign up process 15 to 30 minutes before we go on (if it’s a busy night). Once the first set is full we wait until the end of the set to start signing folks up for the second set. This applies to club shows only.
2. Can I sing more than one song?
We play each song only once per night. Depending on what the crowd is like, we limit the number of times you can sing to once. If it’s a dead night you can sign up as much as you want but if there are lines for the sign up you get one sing for the evening. So pick a good one!
3. Do I have to know the words? I don’t know the words!
We have the lyrics on screen on stage with notes for breaks, guitar solos, and any other thing that may confuse you in the song. If you get lost we will try our hardest to get you back on track.
4. When do I know when to start singing?
One of the band members (usually Chepo) will count you in. It’s usually best to start when you are counted off if you are not an expert on the song.
5. Can I go crazy like a rock star when I sing?
Sure, just don’t break any of our stuff. And watch your drink! Our screen hates beer.
6. Why don’t you play “such and such” song by “so and so”?
Even though we are technically karaoke, we are still people and have to play these songs. So we try to learn songs that we enjoy and that people might now. These are usually “the hits”. An obscure song will probably never get played except by one person the night they decide to come so it isn’t worth learning. We have axed about 25 songs since we started.
7. Do you play private parties and events?
Yup. We have done everything from Fantastic Fest after parties to playing in someone’s living room at a neighborhood party (the kids even sang). Contact Stefanie at Grabbable Entertainment for booking rates and info.
